Recognition for our library staff

Quality library and information services is our business!

Library managers have a responsibility to protect and support those working in libraries as well as their customers, and communities, including the most vulnerable in society; whilst continuing to provide access to information, services and resources to all users.

They do this by understanding and following appropriate COVID-safe guidelines and recommendations from their Councils. In some cases, this means capacity limits, record keeping and QR scanning, localised restrictions and protections required by central and local government. Providing access to accurate information about the pandemic is another important role libraries take seriously.

Supporting people who are unable or reluctant to come into the physical library building, is at the forefront of some innovative outreach programmes and services, such as Click and Collect Busy Box.

All library members can continue to access a huge range of online resources via our eLibrary – this includes eBooks, magazines, movies, and online courses.

Find out what is on offer by calling your local library or checking online. You can use our "Find a Library." page to locate your nearest branch.
