Keep Calm and Knit On

A project “By the Community for the Community” launched on World Knit in Public Day has the approval of the Guinness Book of World Records.

Timaru District Libraries has taken up the challenge to knit 70,000 peggy squares which will be made into blankets of various sizes and then given to community groups in the Timaru District.

Library Manager, Adele Hewlett says approximately 10,000 squares have already been knitted! "The community response has been overwhelming!"

So what do you do? Keep calm and knit on!

Good luck, Timaru!
