This year an innovative approach to the Books Alive events, associated with the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, has been created in response to challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Books Alive finalist events and virtual storytimes are being offered online for the first time!

Lockdown Laundry invites Wellingtonians to share their lockdown memories! An initiative of Wellington City Libraries, Lockdown Laundry is a way to air your experience of a unique time in New Zealand’s history. Travelling from branch to branch, Lockdown Laundry runs to the end of July.
